The History of Brian’s Custom Pro Shop – From Goalie Pads to Skate Specialists!

In the 1970’s, Sonny Stomp opened Brian’s Custom Pro Shop as a general sporting goods store in Kingsville, Ontario.

In 1979, Brian Heaton joined up with Sonny and began manufacturing Brian’s goalie equipment. Heaton’s designs were built and sold out of the Kingsville shop.

Ten years later, Joe Frei Sr. took ownership of the retail end of the business.

Soon, the business moved to a larger location in Kingsville and expanded to a second location in Windsor, Ontario during the spring of 1993.

Today at Brian’s Source For Sports, our expertise lies in customized and comprehensive fitting of skates and protective gear.

The difference at Brian’s Source For Sports begins with Joe Frei Jr.’s vast knowledge of skate fitting and continues throughout with his unrelenting attention to detail.

His superior skills and understanding has taken him throughout North America and Europe.
